What you will need

- 1/4 cup chopped onion (approx 1/2 a medium onion)

- 2 tablespoons butter

- 3 cups sliced fresh mushrooms (I used a mix of cremini and white)

- 6 tablespoons all-purpose flour

- 2 (14.5 ounce) cans chicken broth (or vegetable broth)

- 1 cup half-and-half cream

- 1/2 teaspoon salt

- 1/8 teaspoon pepper
