Rice and Lentils Porridge

Khichdi or khichuri is a favourite meal during puja festival. This is served with fried eggplant, Potato, roasted papad , chatni,yogurt.

What you will need

2cup basamati rice / gobidabhog rice

1cup yellow lentil [mung dal]

1 inch ginger paste

2 green chillies

1 tsp turmeric powder

1 tsp red chilli powder

3 medium potato quarter

1 small cauliflower floret

4 pointed gourd chopped

2 carrot chopped

1 cinnamon

2 cardamon

3 clove

1 bay leave

1 tsp cumin

1 tsp garam masala

2 dry red chilies

1 big tomato chopped

salt tasted

oil as required

How to cook

Rice soak in water 30 min and drained water, set aside

Yellow lentil roasted and set aside.

Heat pressure cooker with oil add bay leaves, cinnamon, cardamom, clove , dry red chili, cumin when it smell raw aromatic

Then add all vegetables[ if you want then add any other vegetables also ] and fry

Next add turmeric powder, red chili powder, ginger paste,salt and cook

Yellow lentil add next add rice and stir

Next add 7 cup water and garam masala, cover pressure cooker lid and waiting for 4-5 Whistles

Few minutes later open cooker lid, add ghee and mixed ,

Pour a big bowl and ready to serve
