Any timber that you have around the workshop. I prefer to use the harder woods as it last longer
How to do this project

Create a design that speaks to you creatively. Make sure that your design is not offensive to the Maori language or culture. Carving chisels. And time. Don't rush this sort of work because one wrong move of a chisel and you have to start again.
