An easy way to utilise recycled wood into somethin
Someone on Facebook offered free wood for fire but planks were in really good condition. Everything had to be cleared of old rusty staples and nails.

Obtain some wood, my lot was full of rusty staples and nails. Some of planks were covered in glue so I scraped it off.

Measure everything you got and come up with some sort of idea. My pieces were quite thick and no longer than 1.2m, I decided to go for one and a half plank height which added up to about 20cm.

Measure everything up and cut to desired size. I used four pegs that were 8cm below the edge of top plank. This would allow you to cover pegs with soil when filling it up.

Pegs stick out at the bottom so the bed can be securely placed on the ground. I sharpened them with garden axe for easier installation.
