Granita di Mandorle

 

In summer, breakfast in Sicily, means almond granita on a sweet bun with a spoonful of whipped cream. It's usually made with water and almond paste = almonds+sugar. Oh, and it's supposed to come somewhat soft rather than flakey.

What you will need

60 grams almonds

2 tablespoons sugar

1/4 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

250 milliliters water
