Persian Rice Cookies (naan-e Berenji)


To celebrate the Persian new year, Nowruz, we always bake these these Persian Rice cookies. They are so addictive, not too sweet but because of the very soft dough, have an almost melt in the mouth texture.

What you will need

250 grams icing (powdered) sugar

250 grams salted butter

2 large eggs

1 tablespoon rose water

300 grams rice flour

5 cardamom, seeds only

3 tablespoons poppy seeds (optional)

2 tablespoons icing (powdered) sugar for dusting hands
