This Prime Rib Roast is cooked to a perfect medium rare and smothered in a spiced compound butter. This feast is fit for any holiday or special occasion.

1 tsp pepper or to taste

5 lb prime rib

2 medium onions quartered

5 cloves garlic peeled

4 sprigs thyme

2 sprigs rosemary

1 cup dry red wine

1 cup beef broth low sodium

1 tbsp cornstarch

2 tbsp water
