Slow-cooker Jalapeno Cheddar Cheese Soup


A rich, creamy cheese soup with wholesome ingredients made in the slow-cooker that’s sure to keep you warm this winter.

What you will need

2 tablespoons unsalted butter

1 yellow onion, chopped

2 carrots, peeled and chopped (about 1 cup)

2 jalapeno peppers, seeded and diced, plus additional slices for garnish

1 teaspoon garlic, minced

1 teaspoon kosher salt

1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper

1/4 cup flour

1 cup milk

4 cups low sodium chicken or vegetable broth

3 small Yukon gold potatoes, peeled and chopped

2 1/4 cups freshly grated sharp cheddar cheese, plus additional for garnish

Green onions, for garnish

1 can (11 oz) Pillsbury™ refrigerated crusty French loaf, for serving
