Vanilla Buttermint Poke Cake with Buttercream Frosting

What you will need

1 (15.25 ounce) box box yellow cake mix (such as Betty Crocker Super Moist), plus the ingredients called for on package instructions

12 ounces white chocolate, chopped

1/2 cup heavy cream

1/4 teaspoon peppermint extract

1 cup unsalted butter, softened

1/4 teaspoon table salt

9 cups powdered sugar

7 tablespoons whole milk

1 cup coarsely chopped buttermint candies
