Decorative Window Shutters From Recycled Lumber
Window Shutters made from 100+ year old porch boards
What you will need
Recycled lumber
Cookies and exterior glue
Paint
Deck screws
Wood plugs
How to do this project

Gather recycled materials

Locate any remaining metal fasteners, wire brush dirt, load up planar with old blades, wear mask, surface plane boards. Take care to dispose all shavings that may contain lead paint

Trim all lumber edges to provide a jointed edge. Glue boards with weather resistant glue and cookies. Cut to length

Fabricate surface mounted horizontal keys

Make a heart shaped template to router out a heart in each shutter. My friend's wife idea.

Install keys

Paint and attach to house hiding screws with wood plugs
