First gavel I made and second woodworking project I created. As the local chapter did not have a gavel I made one from some found pallet wood of Poplar. Enjoyed the process. First time using a lathe ever. Made it in time to be used at a special event/meeting on a special day for us. Celebrating St. Andrew's day with a special ceremony. St. Andrew's Day is November 30th. He's also the patron saint of Scotland.
