Slats were added once in daughters bedroom
Simple, burned wood is my favorite
What you will need
6 8' 2x12's
6 6' 2x8's
propane torch
2" screws
How to do this project

4 of the extra pieces from cutting the 2x12's to size gave me the dividers. This also gives necessary strength for the base

The bottom shelf of the headboard holds the mattress from sliding under it and keeps pillows from falling underneath

This was on a whim, late at night trying to finish it situation. I have not installed a backing on the headboard at this time but plan on it in the future
