Shredded Firm tofu is a really great animal protein substitute! Try it here with your favorite barbecue sauce and crunchy fresh lettuce wraps.
What you will need
14 oz Extra Firm Tofu
1 head Butter Lettuce
1 Tbsp Oil
1 Tbsp Soy Sauce
2 tsp Chili Powder
1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
1/2 tsp Smoked Paprika
1/4 cup Barbecue Sauce
1/4 Red Onion, optional

Gather and portion ingredients. Drain and dry tofu.

Grate the tofu on the larger side of a box grater.

Put the shredded tofu into a large mixing bowl and pour the oil and soy sauce over the top. Stir to combine.

Add the smoked paprika, chili powder, and garlic powder to the bowl. Stir until seasonings are distributed.

Add a little bit of cooking oil to a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the tofu and saute for about 5 minutes or until some of the pieces brown and crisp up around the edges.

Stir in the barbeque sauce.

Rinse and lay out the lettuce leaves on a platter. Fill with the shredded tofu and top with a few thinly sliced red onions if you like.
