This is a super simple dessert that emulates cherry pie. Delicious served hot with vanilla ice cream!
What you will need
CHERRIES:
30 oz Frozen Sweet Cherries
DUMPLINGS:
1/2 cup Sugar
2 tsp Baking Powder
1/4 tsp Salt
3/4 cup Milk
1 cup AP Flour
CINNAMON SUGAR MIXTURE
1 Tbsp Sugar
1/4 tsp Cinnamon
Vanilla Ice Cream, optional

Gather and portion all ingredients.

Add the frozen cherries and sugar to a skillet and mix to combine.

Cover the cherries with a lid while the cherries thaw.

Add flour, baking powder and salt. Stir to combine.

Slowly stir the milk into the dry ingredients to make the dumpling dough. It will be fairly thin and can be scooped up with a spoon.

Remove the lid and let the cherries simmer for 8-10 minutes until juice reduces to a syrup.

Use a spoon to dollop dumplings over the cherries.

Mix the cinnamon and sugar together.

Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar over the tops of the dumplings.

Add a lid to the pan so that steam will be trapped inside and cook the dumpling dough. Simmer on medium low for about 10 more minutes until the dumplings are cooked.

When the dumplings are firmed up, it is ready to serve!
