How to Cut Butternut Squash

Wash the squash and use a sharp vegetable peeler to remove the skin from the sides of the squash.

Hold tightly and use the peeler to remove the rest of the skin near the base and stem of the squash.

Slice off the stem and the base of the squash.

Use a large chefs knife to carefully cut the squash in half.

Use a spoon to scoop out the seeds from the middle of the squash. Discard this portion.

Cut 1/2 inch strips into the squash halves.

Turn these pieces on their side and slice into 1/2 inch lengths again.

Turn the strips sideways and dice perpendicularly to cut the squash into 1/2 inch cubes.

Repeat steps with the other half of the squash.
