If you don't think you can get to your fresh tomatoes before they go bad, try tossing them in the freezer.

As long as you plan to use them in cooked preparations, it's perfectly fine to store tomatoes in the freezer. Keep in mind that previously frozen tomatoes probably won't be worth serving fresh.

Make sure to label them before you toss them in the back of the freezer to be forgotten. Even frozen, they won't last forever, so a packing date will help you figure out when it might be time to let go.

Just toss them in a ziplock bag, seal it tight. If you are concerned about freezer space, you can quarter larger tomatoes and remove seeds to get them a little more compact.

Into the freezer they go. Properly stored, they should last about 3 months.
